NIRvana® LNSWIR For Science

The cryogenically cooled NIRvana® LN is unbeatable on sensitivity. For the faintest samples and the longest exposures, the LN can deliver exposure times of 60+ minutes.

  • 850 – 1550nm SWIR / NIR-II
  • Most sensitive SWIR camera
  • 15e- Read Noise
  • 10e- Dark Current

Key Features

If it can be seen, you can see it with the NIRvana LN.

When your sample can barely be detected, sometimes a ‘long stare’ is your only option.

The NIRvana® LN represents the pinnacle of SWIR sensitivity. Thanks to our liquid nitrogen cooling technology, the NIRvana® LN offers the longest noise-free exposure times in SWIR with only 10e-/p/s of dark current. Combined with only 15e- of read noise and high QE, this camera can detect the previously undetectable.

Cryogenic Cooling for Unbeatable Long Exposure Performance

With liquid nitrogen cooling, the NIRvana® LN can handle exposure times of over an hour. What’s more, the cooling stability can be maintained over more than 30 hours on one liquid nitrogen fill for consistency over long term experiments.

Added to this is our lifetime vacuum guarantee for unparalleled reliability.

Live monitoring and real-time adjustment during long exposures

During exposure times of up to an hour, how can you make sure that you’re only capturing the light you want to capture? The NIRvana® LN has a unique capability: Non-Destructive Read Out allows you to periodically check what the camera has captured during the elapse of one single long exposure, without resetting the collected signal. Never come back to overexposed images again.

Minimise Scene Noise

SWIR photons are everywhere. A significant source of unwanted noise in SWIR imaging is infrared photons from around the sample. The NIRvana® LN features a proprietary cold shield, which blocks photons you don’t want, improving image quality.

Family Specifications

Imaging array 640 x 512 pixels
Pixel size 20 μm x 20 μm
Sensor image area 12.8 mm x 10.24 mm

NIRvana Family Features

Large Pixel Size Delivers High Sensitivity

We don’t just have lower noise – we collect more photons too. With larger pixel area comes greater light detection ability. The 20 μm pixels of the NIRvana® family collect 80% more light than 15 μm pixel cameras, and 4 times as much light as 10 μm pixel cameras.
